My HSR Code of Honour: 1. Golden Rule
I will do to others what I want others to do to me. I will not do to others what I do not want others to do to me.
Applications: Never lie, mislead, misrepresent, or hide material information. No ‘Fishing’ and ‘Undercutting’. Promote and protect client’s best interest.
2. Integrity
Integrity is first and last. If people don’t trust me, they will not do business with me. If people respect me, they will be more inclined to do business with me. Therefore, I will do everything lawfully, ethically, and honorably.
Applications: No cashback/cashdown deals, illegal money lending, forging of documents, corruption, and misappropriation of funds. All commissions must be declared to the company. Ensure no conflict of interest.
3. Work-Life Balance
Before I lead others, I must first lead myself. I will love and respect others just as I love and respect myself. I will live a balanced life physically, mentally, emotionally, socially, and spiritually.
Applications: Invest time and effort to look after your family, loved ones and yourself.
4. Professionalism
Professionalism is not what I do. It is how I do what I do. Anything worth doing is worth doing with passion (I love what I do) and excellence (I do it to the best of my abilities). I will deliver what I say I will deliver.
Applications: Be competent in providing your services. Exercise due care and diligence.
5. Quality
I will meet and even exceed my client’s expectations. I will achieve the highest possible standard of results. I will benchmark my performance against my competitors’s performance and I will strive to do more and much better than them.
Applications: Understand clients’s needs and requirements. Act according to client’s instructions. Offer them the best service promptly and efficiently.
6. Service
I am not in the real estate business, I am in the relationship business. My ultimate aim is to turn my client into a ‘Freehold’ friend. I aim to serve my clients through three generations. I seek to hear one word from my client : “WOW!” I will develop positive relationships with all relevant parties.
Applications: No discrimination of sex, race, religion, creed, or nationality. Don’t ‘Run down’ your competitors. Offer exceptional customer service even after the sale.
7. Results
The ultimate measurement of my life is in achieving win-win RESULTS. I aim to achieve the best results in the shortest time and with absolute convenience for my valued clients.
Applications: List all properties on an exclusive basis. Use the best marketing systems, technologies, and tools to achieve best results.
8. ‘Go4It!’ Actions
I will not lay blame, try to justify, or give excuses. I will take prompt actions to innovate and improve to achieve better results. I will be accountable and I will take full responsibility to initiate all necessary actions.
Applications: Be proactive. Keep relevant parties informed of your actions.
9. Discipline
I aim to be the best that I can be. Every detail counts. I will keep it tight!
Applications: Check all details thoroughly. Submit all offers and counter offers immediately. Keep documents current. Explain before completion of sale.
10. Leverage
I will achieve ever more with ever less to achieve the best results. I will leverage on people, systems, technology, and other resources to accomplish more for my clients.
Applications: Always co-broke and on fair terms.
11. Positiveness
If I have nothing good to say, I will shut up. If I have to open my mouth, I will speak words of life. Bad news should go up (to the top management). Good news should go everywhere. I will maintain positive, open, and value-added communication at all times. I will ‘tee up’ every fellow human through positive appreciation, affirmations, compliments, and other edifying actions.
Applications: Don’t spread negative rumours. Maintain a positive work environment.
12. Teamwork
A champion team is better than a team of champions. TEAM stands for ‘Teams that are effective achieve more. I am committed to develop the #1 team and to harness the best from every member of my team. I will help to build a warm, dynamic, and caring HSR Family.
Applications: Don’t ‘poach’ any agent from other HSR group. Support one another to achieve win-win results.
13. Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)
When I reach out to bless other lives, I live the best life. I will do well and do good all the time. I will donate time, talents, and treasure (including money) to make the world a better place. I will reduce, reuse, recycle, repair, and recover valuable resources and reject anything that is harmful to the environment.
Applications: Don’t waste water, electricity, paper etc. Donate to a good cause generously.
14. Learning
Continuous learning is the breakfast of champions. I must constantly ask myself, “How can I be a more professional and effective agent?”
Applications: Update yourself with relevant laws, policies, code of ethics, and other information.
15. Reputation
My ultimate asset is my reputation. I will build and develop it at all cost. I will always endeavor to promote HSR’s image, visibility, and reputation.
Applications: Dress and behave professionally.
